Re:Delicatessen is a reimagining of one of the Sub Dogma films ︎, a genre known for its focus on objects. This film strips down the original elements and offers a fresh perspective, limited solely to the city of London.
With the use of simple utensils, the filmmakers strive to elevate the film's essence through a week-long restoration process, deepening the audience's understanding and appreciation of the objects and architecture.
Objects become malleable in the hands of the filmmakers, serving as mere vessels for the true core of the film - the atmosphere they evoke in each shot, the harmonious rhythm of the footage, and the impact they have on the audience. The film is not about the objects themselves, but rather the impression they leave behind.
